Day 11

Shire Reckoning: Hevensday, Foreyule 15 -- Milford Sound.

Minor annoyance, people are changing seats on the bus and thus breaking up the groups of people we know and get along with. That's okay in one sense since we get to meet all kinds of new folks. I got to sit near Jennifer Fallon most of the day though and talked quite a bit. She said most of her stuff hasn't made it stateside yet.  (It is being listed on Amazon now though so it should be soon!)

Anyway, people are changing seats because they say the view is worse in the back of the bus. Rubbish...it is a bus people....it is the same view from any seat except the driver's. I think it has more to do with attitude than anything else. Folks trying to get away from the "Mumbly Grumblers" no doubt. Can't blame them. Penny and I have to sit in the back...but as we're immune to the M.G.'s its no biggie.

Today we head to Milford Sound. Not a LOTR location as far as I know, but New Zealander's consider this place beautiful so I have high hopes.

Well....words can't even describe this place. Well maybe they can, but no words that I can yet put to paper. Ridiculously beautiful. It doesn't even look real. I will let the pictures speak for me.

Also....had a decent small quote joke:

"If I take one more step, it will be the farthest south I've ever been. "

We are pretty far south when the tour ship puts out to sea and turns back into the sound....any further south I think is Antarctica.

We got back really early and Penny booked us for a glowworm cave excursion. Then we were interviewed by Quickbeam and a TORN camera crew who are putting together a documentary called "Ringers".....I hope what I said sounded nice and profound and not too dorky.

Then we headed out to the glow-worm cave but due to the amount of rainfall yesterday, the glow-worm caves are flooded, so that was cancelled.

We went and ate at a restaurant called "La Toscana" or something similar in Te Anau. Really nice Italian place. Had a nice long convo with Dominique and her mother (from Belgium) and then Maria and William joined us for dinner. Long convos and good times. Headed back to the hotel where they are piping over FOTR. Penny is exhausted and is actually asleep before me.

Boromir is getting killed on TV. Tomorrow back to Cromwell via Amon Hen and the Ford of Bruinen.

Time to get some sleep.
